Delete your Pinamily account

Request permanent account deletion inside Pinamily so the service can verify your identity and apply the correct Household ownership rules.

How to request deletion

  • Open Pinamily and sign in to the account you want to delete.
  • Go to More > Privacy and data.
  • Choose Delete account. If you are the sole Owner and sole member, choose Delete account and family.
  • Read the confirmation, then authenticate again with your email and password when prompted.
  • Confirm the irreversible action and submit the request.
  • If processing is not complete yet, return to Privacy and data to view the request status.

Member

If you are a Member, deletion removes your account and membership. The Household continues for its remaining members. Shared Household content is preserved, while personal actor references are removed or neutralized where the deletion lifecycle requires it.

Owner with other members

If you own a Household that has other members, deletion is blocked until you transfer ownership. Go to More > Family, transfer ownership to an existing Member of the same Household, then return to More > Privacy and data and request deletion again.

Sole Owner

If you are the only Owner and only member, the app requires the explicit Delete account and family action. When processed, it deletes your account, the Household, and the Household's shared content.

What happens next

Deletion is processed server-side. The request can show Pending, Processing, Completed, or Failed. Sessions are revoked and the account enters deletion processing; local app data is wiped after the server confirms completion. If a request fails, the status screen provides the safe next step.

The process removes personal support tickets, user-visible messages and diagnostics, inbox links, memberships, and other personal account data covered by the lifecycle. Limited sanitized audit or de-identified technical records may remain where needed for security, service integrity, or applicable requirements.

Shared data

Account data and Household data have different lifecycles. A Member deletion removes the person but preserves shared Household content for remaining members. Deleting the sole Owner together with the Household removes the shared calendar, lists, chores, recipes, birthdays, meal plans, invitations, and related Household records.

Export first

Before requesting deletion, you can go to More > Privacy and data and request a personal data export. Wait for the export to complete and download it before starting deletion. The export is separate, covers personal account data rather than Household-owned content, remains available for 7 days, and uses a download link that is valid for 15 minutes at a time.
